What is infertility?

Infertility is a disease affecting one in tem couple in reproductive age. Yes, it is a disease – affecting simultaneously two person and in several ways. The symptoms are silent and confounded with the consequence, which is the absence of a baby. Its characteristics are confused and multifaceted; the infertility affects all aspects of the life of the patients – the self-confidence, the ability to plan the future, the relationship of the couple itself and with the others, and of course the self pity and guilty sensation.   The experience of infertility leads to a state of frustration and eagerness incomparable to any other health situations. The diagnostic is generally done after 12 month of sexual intercourse without contraception and without attaining pregnancy, or if the pregnancy is not termed. If the woman is over 35, the period for diagnosis is reduced for 6 months of unprotected intercourses. In United States over than 6 million men and women are affected by infertility. In Brazil it is estimated that 2 million have difficult to attain pregnant.
