When should we start the infertility investigation?
Classically, a couple should start an infertility investigation after one year of regular and unprotected sexual activity without achieving pregnancy. However, this investigation must start before one year in some situations, as following:
• A known male factor (as cryptorchidism);
• When there is high risk for female infertility as in cases of women over 35 years old;
Causing factors
The causes of infertility can be basically categorized as.
• Ovulation dysfunction
• Alteration in the uterine tubes
• Endometriosis
• Uterine factor
