Pelvic surgery

Minimally invasive pelvic surgery

The main objective of any surgery is to treat a disease in a harmless way to the patient. This aim is attained by the gentle and precise manipulation of organs, tissues, reduction in the operation time, bleeding and the utilization of the correct gear.

The minimally invasive surgery consists in techniques and specific surgical instruments to allow higher precision and fewer traumas, reducing post-operation discomfort and faster recovery of the patient.

Laparoscopy and vaginal surgery are the hallmarks of the minimally invasive pelvic surgery.

The abdomen is insufflated with carbonic gas during the laparoscopy and 3 to 4 incisions of 0.5 to 2 centimeters are made. The insertion of a micro camera through one of the incisions allows the high definition and augmented observation of organs and structures.  Small tweezers are inserted through the other incisions for the surgery.
