Reversion of tubal sterilization
Tubal sterilization is a common contraceptive method. Women that did not want to have other child(ren),and regrets of the tubal sterilization may seek a method to get pregnant. In such cases there are two therapeutic options: reversal of tubal sterilization or IVF.
The reversal of tubal sterilization comprises a surgery to reconstruct the uterine tube harmed by the sterilization. The knowledge about the sterilization condition is fundamental for the success of the reversal. The success rate depends on the extension and location of tubal harm. The reversal is a video laparoscopy in a hospital environment with fast recovery of the patient (in some cases the woman can go back home in the same day!).
Reversion of tubal sterilization X in vitro fertilization (IVF)
The dilemma between choosing reversion of tubal sterilization or in vitro fertilization is common. The decision is not easy. Some aspects have to be considered as maternal age, and additional causes of infertility and perviousness of the uterine tubes.
